Hi!

My name is Matt and I’m a research hydrologist from the US, currently living in Paris, France, and working toward a PhD at Sorbonne University.

Our lab is located within the Paris Observatory, which is a lot of fun. There is a giant historic telescope! Scientists down the hall are designing a satellite which will visit the moons of Jupiter. How cool is that? And then there are a small handful of us working with satellite data for the Earth, trying to better understand how water moves around our home planet.

I created this site to house some projects and maybe a few ideas. Check out the the Global Watersheds web app, which I’m particularly proud of. I think it is by far the fastest and easiest way to find the drainage basin upstream of (almost) any point on Earth.

Thanks for dropping by. Get in touch if you have any comments or are interested in collaborating!
